Kindle and Its Effect on Libraries

I cannot talk about literature in the digital age without discussing the Kindle. It is an ebook reader sold by Amazon, which has had a profound impact on literature. I was reading articles about the Kindle when I stumbled onto this recent news article. In the article, it shows some of the impact ebooks have had on libraries in that they are now loaning out ebooks for Kindles. In addition, the librarians were made angry because of a lack of support of Penguin's ebooks for libraries, according to Ben Geier's article. Amazon's help page states that ebooks are available for the device in over 11,000 libraries in the United States. This was a shock even for me as I never expected digital items could be loaned out to others.

Frankenstein and His Creation

To start off this blog, I'm going to begin with an essay on the science fiction classic Frankenstein. It was an essay I had previously written that had been modified for the web. I would definitely recommend reading the novel Frankenstein before downloading my essay because there are spoilers.
